    • Description

Vienna. 1862–1918. The Man Who Painted Everything in Gold.

Gustav Klimt was the eldest of seven children, the son of a gold engraver. He grew up understanding gold — its weight, its lustre, its ability to make ordinary things feel sacred. He studied at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts and built a successful career painting decorative murals for theatres and public buildings. Then, in his late thirties, he threw all of that away.

He founded the Vienna Secession in 1897 — a movement of artists who walked out of the established academy and started their own. Their motto was: To every age its art. To art its freedom. Klimt was their first president. He designed their exhibition space, edited their journal, and made the most radical paintings of his career.

The works that followed — The Kiss, Judith, the Beethoven Frieze, the Tree of Life — made him the defining voice of the Viennese golden age. Real gold leaf on canvas. Mosaic patterns borrowed from Byzantine art. Female figures painted with a directness that shocked and fascinated in equal measure. He was famous, controversial, and completely unlike anyone else.

      The Design
Four of Klimt's most celebrated works brought together in one collage print — The Kiss, Judith I, Beech Forest, and The Park. Gold leaf opulence, swirling symbolism, and the unmistakable decorative language of the Vienna Secession. The kind of art that belongs on walls — and on you.

      The Fit
Unisex relaxed fit — comfortable for all body types. Wear oversized or true to size.

      The Fabric
