At Giverny, Monet had a pond. A real pond with real water lilies. He planted them himself — each variety chosen for its colour in a particular quality of light.
For nearly three decades he stood at that pond and painted. Not the pond. The feeling of the pond. The way the sky lived in the water. The way pink lilies floated between two worlds — the surface and the reflection.
He was not painting water. He was living in impressions.
The Design
Large bold gradient typography — Living in Impressions — in deep purple, coral and warm amber, set over Monet's iconic Water Lilies painting. Pink water lilies float on still blue-green water. The colours of the typography graduate from top to bottom — purple bleeding into pink into amber — the same way Monet's paintings move through colour. A design as bold as the artist himself.
